Yay, it's me again. I'm in 贵阳 now.
I went to 惠州 from wed afternoon to sat afternoon. It's about 1 1/2 hours from Shenzhen. My dad works there.
We went to 惠州西湖 on Thursday. It's somewhat like a "copy" of 杭州西湖. My dad says it's because 苏东坡 worked in 杭州 at first and the 西湖 was already there. Then 苏东坡被贬到惠州, and he saw that this lake is very nice too, so he named/made it 西湖 too. LOL. (Maybe u don't get what I'm saying luh.) I love lakes. For me, they're so much nicer than rivers/oceans/etc. (Can't post pics now cos there's sth wrong with internet D: super slow)
Afterwards, we went to watch movie. 2012. It's okay. Not very nice and not very not nice. There's this movie called State of Play which seems really nice!
On Friday we went to 东江. We walked like crazy. Seriously. I dont think I gained weight, even though I ate SO MUCH.
I was planning to go HongKong on Saturday but then, u know what, China people are not even allowed to go to their own place. WTF right. Singaporeans don't need visas to go to HK, but Chinese do?! WTH. So I need to go back Sichuan and get a visa. But I don't know whether I can get it in time :(
Now it's damn cold in Guiyang! Shenzhen was like 28 degrees and now Guiyang is about 6-10 degrees. My hands are becoming numb.
OH YEAH, this is random but my dad has perfect pitch!! So lucky right. And he is super amazed that most other people don't. And he can't believe I don't -.-
At first I thought that he has relative pitch, but then he said that he knows the note when other people play it on piano. SO!!
Now I'm at my cousin's house. My nephew grew so much! He can talk and walk now. And he looks a little different from before! His eyelashes are DAMN long. Like Indians. Super nice!
YAY we're eating steamboat/barbeque tonight. Life is so exciting here :D
OKAY GTG. BYE!
I still can't believe that the GREAT CHINA FIREWALL blocks websites like blogger and facebook. -.- I think u need to do something in order to view those websites! SIAO
Okay my first 2 days in Shenzhen:
(I don't know why the pic is so blur when I enlarged it. So I didn't enlarge it further!)
This is the plane I took from Singapore to Shenzhen
After that my dad came to pick me up and we went to his friend's house to stay. Forgot to take a pic of that house though. But that house is located right in the middle of Shenzhen and beside the government building, and guess what, I think the house is only about 100 Sq M, but my dad says it's worth 3-4 million RMB. That's like crazy! 30000-40000 for 1 Sq M. (I mean when u change it to S$ it's okay but imagine buying that in China.) They're super lucky to have bought the house quite some years ago right! Just that one flat is enough to last them a whole lifetime.
This is the government building. It's so called 大鹏展翅. Haha. Quite lame right.
This is the area beside their house. Really looks like Singapore right. I think this is the best area in Shenzhen. Really clean too. And their library and theatre (something like Esplanade) look great too!
This is their MRT. Look exactly like Singapore!
The thing I hate about some of the places is that they're really copy cat. There's this shop called Mannings, which has the exact logo as Guardian. And they have places called 桃园 and 淡水 (exactly same as Taiwan) And there's this shopping centre and MRT station called 东门町. And when I saw it, i was still wondering if they were copying 台北西门町. And when I saw the building myself, I was like......
